Chronological Bible Day 6

Lot did not want to live Sodom

While I was reading I could not help but notice the fact that even though the angels were telling Lot that  they had been ordered to destroy the city and that he must flee and save his family, the people that he loved; Lot did not want to leave the city where he had grown accustomed to live.
Graciously, the God sent men, in two different occasions take his hand and lead him out of his house.

God has gracious ways when working with us. Sometimes we are not willing to walk the paths of inconveniences he often places before us. We aim to be comfortable and anything that differs from that will always scare us. But gently he takes our hands and leads us out of our Sodom. And he does it again if he must do so.

That is why I don't believe people whenever they state that God gives you one chance to fulfill his calling and that you have to be aware to take the opportunities he gives you to do so. And if you don't, well you are just a nobody for the rest of your life. That is not the God I read about in the Bible. This God takes you by the hand and leads you to that difficult path you must walk, but that is the same path he knows will make your spirit, soul and character grow more. If in the bottom of our hearts we are willing to do God's will, he will make sure we do, even in spite of ourselves.
